Indian Land Leader-In-Training (LIT) Camp

Indian Land Leader-In-Training (LIT) Camp

The Leader-In-Training (LIT) Camp exists to help 12-14 year old’s learn leadership and technical skills to prepare them to become better employees, leaders and role models. LITs have a unique role at camp – we want LITs to enjoy camp, the friendships and the activities, but we are relying on them to be role models for our younger campers and helping hands for our staff. LITs will have portions of their camp experience with the younger campers, but will also have time for their own experience and development. Participants will alternate between hands-on experiences working with a specific age-group or shadowing adult counselors in classrooms. Additionally, LITs will have learning-based experiences including group discussion, panels, workshops and lectures. Participation in LIT programs may lead to leadership opportunities at school, the YMCA, in extracurricular activities and employment opportunities. LIT Camp program participation does not guarantee future YMCA employment but does provide exposure to current staff. Space is limited.
