Facility Guest Visits

Two (2) Visits per Calendar Year

Your first visit is complimentary (no fee). Your second visit will be $15 for an individual day pass or $25 for a household day pass (includes persons living in the same household).

Waivers

Download and fill out the guest form before arriving. Sign the general waiver. If you are under 18, your parent/legal guardian must sign the waiver. All guests must adhere to the code of conduct set forth by the YMCA of Upper Palmetto.

Photo ID

All guests/non-members ages 16 and older must present a state or government-issued Photo ID with current address. Without a valid ID, guests/non-members will not be allowed into the facility.

Youth Guideline

  • Ages 11 and younger must be accompanied by a YMCA of Upper Palmetto member over the age of 21. Must have their parent or legal guardian sign the guest waiver.
  • Ages 12-17 must have their parent or legal guardian over the age of 18 sign a guest waiver. 

YMCA Nationwide Memberships

YMCA of Upper Palmetto participates in Nationwide Membership reciprocity. If you are a Greater Charlotte or Gaston County Family YMCA member, please reference our Regional Usage Agreement below.

Week Visitor Passes

Weekly visitor passes may be purchased by a member or with a member for $30 per individual or $50 household. Visitor passes are limited to two (2) one-week passes per visiting individual. Facility access, including water parks, is granted with a YMCA of Upper Palmetto member.

Outdoor Water Parks

  • Guests are allowed to buy daily Waterpark Passes at the front desk inside the main facility for outdoor waterpark access.
    • Individual Waterpark Pass – $15
    • Household Waterpark Pass – $30
  • Guests will be required to complete a Guest Waiver and provide photo ID. All guests under 18 must have an adult (18+) with them at all times.
  • Waterpark Passes do not include facility access. These are sold separately to the two yearly facility visits.
  • Waterpark passes will not be sold on Memorial Day or Independence Day.
  • Daily Waterpark Passes can add up! Don’t forget – a YMCA membership includes full access to the facility and waterpark!

Angie Smith

Angie Smith, is a gifted writer, encourager and loving mother of four. Together with her husband, former NFL player Steve Smith, they established The Steve Smith Family Foundation, which is dedicated to providing hope and inspiration to those in need while advancing causes  close to the family’s heart – Promoting family health & wellness as well as the awareness and prevention of domestic violence.

In 2022, The Steve Smith Foundation and Mecklenburg County partnered to create Charlotte’s first behavioral health urgent care, a 24/7, 365 urgent care facility dedicated to mental health and substance abuse needs.

Angie’s commitment to her family, transparency and unselfishness, by putting other’s needs before her own, is an inspiration to all of us!

Alan Tyson

Alan Tyson is the President Architech Sports and Physical Therapy. He was the former Vice President of Sports Performance and Rehabilitation for OrthoCarolina. He is a physical therapist board certified as a sports clinical specialist, a certified athletic trainer and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has worked with the Charlotte Knights (AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) and continues to serve as a consultant to the team. Alan is also a consultant with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Eagles.

Alan has spoken regionally and nationally on various training topics including the foot and ankle, spine care, hip and knee rehabilitation, and he has developed two continuing education courses on the shoulder. He has written 3 books and developed specific training programs for the female athlete, the baseball pitcher, and for football players preparing for the NFL combines. Alan is also an associate editor of the National Strength and Conditioning Journal. He co-hosted a weekly radio show “Health Headlines” on 1110AM WBT with Stacey Sims and Dr. Russ Greenfield for 3 years.

Antoinette Johnson

She stands as a shining example of how one can constantly evolve, change, and grow on their journey to success. Antoinette’s story is one of resilience and determination, inspiring others to follow their passions despite any challenges they may encounter.
