Youth Cheerleading
Cheerleading offers the perfect opportunity for young girls ages 3-12 to develop self-reliance and self-confidence on an individual level while stressing the importance of teamwork within a cheer squad. Cheerleaders will learn basic skills, chants, cheers, jumps, stunts, dance some tumbling while experiencing performances in front of a crowd. Cheerleaders will perform and cheer during youth sports league games at halftime at the end of each session.
Junior Cheer (6-8 Years Old)
The listed fee represents program participation only. There will be an additional Cheer Uniform fee of approximately $27.25 (Shell & Skirt). Uniform fees will need to be paid within the first 3 weeks of the program. YMCA Cheer Staff will provide instructions on how to purchase your child’s uniform at the first class of the session. If the child grows out of the uniform during their continued participation in Youth Cheerleading, a new uniform will be ordered and a uniform fee will be charged for the new size.
What to wear to practice: Athletic wear and hair tied back.
PRACTICES
- Ages 6-8 will have one 30-minute practice once during the weekday on Fridays between 6:00 PM-6:30 PM.
- Halftime Shows will take place during the session.

This group will be focused on the fundamentals and organization of cheerleading, counting, and choreography.

Expect to see a lot of fun, smiles, and movement! This age group will begin to grow and learn beginning skills for cheerleading.
