Lifeguard Training Course
This course instructs participants in both lifeguarding and CPR for the professional rescuer. Successful completion will gain the participant certification by the American Red Cross, with the exception of the Junior Lifeguarding course.

Pre-requisites: 15 years of age by the completion of the in-person portion, 300-yard swim by front crawl or breaststroke, 2-minute treading water test, and timed 10-pound brick carry test.

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification instructors will train and certify participants in American Red Cross Lifeguard programs. The course will include CPR/First Aid/AED. Certifications can be used to work at YMCA pools as well as other aquatic facilities. Classes will meet on Saturdays in April and May. Register at any Upper Palmetto YMCA location or on our website ymca.org.
