City Girl Garden Club
Are you interested in becoming a member of City Girl Garden Club for the 2026 gardening year?
City Girl Garden Club is a program that creates a community space for children ages 5 years old to 17 years old to learn about gardening, farming, and homesteading by providing workshops, hands-on activities, and field trip experiences that educate on the importance of sustainable gardening practices, healthy eating habits, food security, and provide resources for living a self-sufficient lifestyle.
Our goals include:
- Beautify the neighborhood.
- Strengthen community involvement.
- Advocate for the community and families.
- Collaborate with and connect neighborhoods & communities.
- Share resources & information, in order to facilitate the best garden practices.
- Promote sustainability and food security.
- Implement homesteading practices.
City Girl Garden Club 2026
The City Girl Garden Club meets once a week on Monday from 6:00pm-7:30pm. There is a new topic each week along with a field trip to the City Girl Garden & Urban Farm 803 which will be scheduled for a Saturday from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
Spring/Summer Gardening
During the Spring/Summer sessions you will learn about gardening methods, gardening regions/zones, warm weather crops, seed starting, soil mixing, transplants, direct-sow method, DIY organic fertilizers, pest control, installing garden cages/trellises, routine card and maintenance.
Fall/Winter Gardening
During the Fall/Winter sessions you will learn about gardening methods, gardening regions/zones, cool weather crops, seed starting, soil mixing, transplants, direct-sow method, DIY organic fertilizers, planting bulbs (garlic, onion, flowers), pest control, installing hoops and row coverings, greenhouses, over-wintering plants, routine care and maintenance, putting garden beds to rest.
